Startup Finance Webinars That Actually Help

Real conversations about funding, cash flow management, and building financially sustainable startups. Join Australian founders and finance experts for practical sessions starting September 2025.

What We Talk About

These aren't your typical corporate webinars. We keep things straightforward and focus on what actually matters when you're building a startup in Australia.

Each session runs for 60 minutes with plenty of time for questions. We've been running these since late 2024, and the format works because people show up ready to dig into real problems they're facing right now.

Topics change based on what the startup community needs. Sometimes we revisit fundamentals like cap tables. Other times we explore newer areas like revenue-based financing or understanding SAFE notes.

Webinar host Callum Devereux

Meet Callum Devereux

CFO at three successful Australian tech startups, now helping early-stage founders

Callum spent eight years working through Series A and B rounds with Australian startups before deciding to focus on helping earlier-stage founders. He's seen what works and what doesn't when it comes to startup finance.

His approach is practical rather than theoretical. During webinars, he shares actual cap tables, real term sheets, and the kind of financial decisions that founders face every few months. No sugarcoating the hard parts.

Between 2019 and 2024, Callum helped over 40 Australian startups navigate their first funding rounds. He knows the local ecosystem well and has connections with most active angel groups and early-stage VCs in Sydney and Melbourne.

Why Join Our Webinars

We focus on the financial challenges that matter most to Australian startups. Each session addresses real situations founders encounter.

Australian Context

Everything discussed relates specifically to the Australian startup ecosystem. We cover local funding sources, tax structures, and regulatory requirements that actually apply here.

Direct Interaction

These are small group sessions where you can ask specific questions about your situation. We keep attendance limited so everyone gets time to participate and discuss their challenges.

Ongoing Learning

Access to recordings and materials after each session. The financial decisions you make early shape your startup for years, so being able to review content later proves helpful.

Recent Topics We've Covered

Our webinar topics shift based on what Australian founders need most. Here's a look at some sessions from the past few months.

Workshop on startup financial planning and term sheet analysis

Term Sheet Deep Dive

In February 2025, we spent 90 minutes breaking down actual term sheets from Australian angel rounds and early VC deals. Participants brought their own draft terms, and we discussed what different clauses meant in practical terms.

Understanding liquidation preferences and when they matter
Anti-dilution protection and how it affects future rounds
Board composition and voting rights in early-stage deals

Burn Rate Reality Check

March 2025 brought tough conversations about runway and spending decisions. Several founders shared their actual burn rates and we discussed what's reasonable, what's concerning, and how to adjust when things get tight.

The session included examples of startups that extended their runway by six months through smart cost management without killing momentum. Sometimes the answer is cutting expenses. Other times it's finding creative ways to accelerate revenue.
